Medicines that improve perfusion and myocardial metabolism

Description of the pharmacological group

Medicinal properties

The ischemia and metabolism of myocardium are the basic reason for the most common diseases of the heart: coronary heart disease, the assaults of stenocardia, myocardial infarction and others. Therefore widely adapt the medicines, which influence the basic pathogenetic links of these illnesses, including of means, which improve coronary blood flow, which decrease the load on the myocardium, which reduce the need of heart for oxygen, which improve the proceeding in it metabolic processes.

In connection with the wide use of such means with their stenocardia they began to call antianginal preparations.

Into the number of these preparations enter organic nitrates, the antagonists of calcium ions, beta-blockers and other means, which influence the adrenergic innervation of heart, and also spasmolitic preparations and other

As the antianginal (additional) means are used also the preparations, which increase the general stability of tissues of organism to hypoxia (antioxidants, antihypoxants) and the improving general processes of metabolism.

Antianginal preparations

Antianginal means - this is the group of the preparations of different mechanism of action, which are adapted for treating the stenocardia.

Classification

The antianginal means include nitrocontaining preparations, blockers of beta-adrenergic receptors, the antagonists of calcium, derivatives of purane, isoquinoline, chromene and some other medicines.

However, in the clinical practice only three groups of the preparations found their acknowledgement: nitrates, blockers of beta-adrenoreceptors and the antagonists of calcium as highly effective.

Perfusion and myocardial metabolism are used for treatment of heart disease, myocardial infarction, stenocardia, coronary heart disease, strokes

Summary

Antianginal drugs for treatment of heart disease, coronary heart disease, strokes, myocardial infarction
