Description
Active substance - diltiazem: D-cis-3-Acetoxy-2 ,3-dihydro-5-[2 - (dimethylamino) ethyl] -2 (2 - methoxyphenyl) -1,5-benzothiazepines-4 (5H)-one hydrochloride.
Pharmacological action
Antagonist of calcium, who blocks specific calcium channels in the smooth muscles.
Indications for use
Cardizem is used for effective treatment of arterial hypertension, supraventricular tachycardia, heart rhythm irregularities, as well as to monitor the heart rate response to other rhythm disturbances (stenocardia), such as fibrillation and flutter.
Method of application and dose
Tablets, which contain on 30 mg of diltiazem, on 1 tablet of 3-4 times in the day.
Tablets, which contain on 60 mg of diltiazem, on 1/2-2 tablets of 3-4 times in the day; usually on 1 tablet of 3 times in the day.
Tablet of the prolonged action, which contain on 120 mg of diltiazem, 1 or 1,5 tablets of 1-2 times in the day.
Dosage of cardil is selected strictly individually depending on clinical indications and individual tolerance of preparation.
Side-line action
Headache, a feeling of fatigue, nausea, irritation of the mucous membrane of stomach, skin precipitations.
Contraindications
As for other antagonists of calcium - the disturbance of atrioventricular conductivity, the sharp stage of myocardial infarction, cardial shock. During the pregnancy and the lactation - only from the absolute indications.
Form of the release
Tablets, which contain on 30 or 60 mg of the acting substance, in the packing of 100 tablets. Tablet of the prolonged action, which contain on 120 mg of the acting substance, in the packing of 100 pieces.
