Description
Active substance - digitoxin. Glycoside, obtained from different forms of digitalis (Digitalis of purpurea L., Digitalis of lanata of ehrh. and other). It is most active glycoside of digitalis of purple; it is contained also in digitalis of woolly and in other forms digitalis.
Pharmacological action
Renders strong cardiotonic action, it increases the force of the reduction of muscle of heart, decreases the frequency of the heart contractions; it possesses the expressed cumulative properties, rapidly is sucked from the gastrointestinal tract.
Indications for use
chronic heart insufficiency with the disturbance of the blood circulation of II and stage III.
Method of application and dose
Inward on 0.1 mg and per of rectum no 0.15 of mg of 1-2 times in the day. Highest one-time dose of 0.5 mg, daily - 1 mg.
Side-line action
Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, discomfort and abdominal pain, diarrhea, gynecomastia, thrombocytopenia, skin precipitations, keratopathy (rarely).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, WPW- syndrome, AV the blockade of high degree, ventricular tachycardia and the fibrillation of ventricles, restrictive cardiomyopathy, valve stenosis with sharp reduction in the heart emission, chronic pericarditis, the early period of myocardial infarction, sinus bradycardia, the syndrome of the weakness of sine unit, severe myocarditis, cardioversion, the amyloidosis of heart, pulmonary heart, thyrotoxicosis, myxedema, the chronic diseases of lungs, sharp respiratory insufficiency, hypokalemia, elderly age, the disturbance of the function of the liver.
Form of the release
Tablet on 0.0001 g, in the packing of 10 pieces, suppository rectal on 0.00015 g, in the packing of 10 pieces.
