Description

Acting substance - meproscillarin, cardiac glycoside, obtained from the squill.

Pharmacological action

Force and speed of the heart contractions increase, insignificantly slows heart rate, AV- conductivity slows down. In patients with the chronic heart insufficiency is caused the defined by example vaso-dilating effect, it decreases venous pressure, increases diuresis, decreases shortness of breath, edemas.

Indications for use

chronic heart insufficiency (with the decompensated valve defects of heart, atherosclerotic cardiosclerosis and others), including with the presence standard or bradysystolic atrial fibrillation.

Method of application and dose

The sensitivities of patient to the preparation of the previous drug treatment establish individually, taking into account gravity of state. Average one-time dose is 250 micrograms; the multiplicity of application - 2-3 times in a 24 hour period. If necessary the dose of preparation can be increased to 1 mg in a 24 hour period.

Side-line action

Bradycardia, AV- blockade, the disturbance of cardiac rhythm, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, vertigo. It is rare - xanthopsia, reduction in the visual acuity, scotoma, macro- and micropsia.

Contraindications

Absolute: glucoside intoxication; the increased sensitivity to the preparation.

Relative: expressed bradycardia, the AV- blockade of the I and II degree, isolated mitral stenosis, hypertrophic suβ-aortal stenosis, sharp myocardial infarction, unstable stenocardia, syndrome WPW, tamponade of heart, extrasystole, ventricular tachycardia, the expressed disturbances of the function of the liver, pregnancy, lactation.

Form of the release

Tablet on 250 micrograms, in the packing of 30 pieces.
