Description
Active substance - lovastatin, which is a cholesterol-lowering agent isolated from a strain of Aspergillus terreus. Lovastatin: [1S-(1a (R *), Za, 7b, 8b (2S *, 4S *), 8ab] 1,2,3,7,8,8 a-hexahydro-3, 7dimetil-8 [2 - ( tetrahydro)-4-hydroxy-6-oxo-2H-pyran-2-yl]-1-naftalenil 2-metilbutanoat.
Pharmacological action
Hypolipidemic tool - HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. It reduces cholesterol, triglycerides, lipoproteins and the lipoproteins of very low density in the blood; moderately increases the content of the lipids of high density, which possess anti-atherogenic action.
Indications for use
Hyperlipoproteinemias, which are not corrected by special diet and physical load.
Method of application and dose
1 time are assigned inward on 10-20 mg in a 24 hour period in the evening during the food. Maximum daily dose - 80 mg.
Side-line action
Dyspeptic phenomena, dryness in the mouth, anorexia, headache, the disturbance of sleep.
Contraindications
Acute diseases of the liver, pregnancy, lactation, the increased sensitivity to the preparation.
Form of the release
Tablet on 0.02 g and 0.04 g of active substance, in the packing of 30 pieces.
Storage
List b. In the cool, protected from the light place at room temperature (not above + 30°C).
