Description

Active substance - Nimodipine: 2,6- dimethyl -4 (3-nitrophenyl) - 1,4-dihydro-3,5- pyridinedicarboxylic acid Methoxyethyl-1--isopropyl diester.

Pharmacological action

Blocker of calcium channels. Under the effect of the preparation occurs the more expressed increase of the blood stream in the previously struck sections of brain, than in the healthy sections. Preparation with the spasms of blood vessels after suβ-arachnoidal hemorrhage is especially effective.

Indications for use

Preventive maintenance of angiospasm of brain and the treatment of the ischemic disturbances of cerebral blood circulation, caused by suβ-arachnoidal hemorrhage; the injury of brain.

Method of application and dose

The course of intravenous introduction begins from the dose of 1 mg (5 ml of solution) /h. Taking into account the mass of the body of patient in 1 hour are introduced about 15 g/kg. Then dose increases to 2 mg in hour (about 30 g/kg an hour). Tablets assume at the dose 60 mg of 6 times in a 24 hour period during 7 days.

Side-line action

Hypotonia, tachycardia, headache, vertigo, insomnia, excitation, the disturbance of the function of kidneys.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, lactation, the expressed disturbances of the function of the liver.

Form of the release

Tablet on 30 mg, in the packing of 30 pieces; solution for the infusions: 50 ml in the bottles, in the packing of 5 pieces (1 bottle it contains 10 mg of active substance).
